Cornelius O'Keeffe (he has since been promoted to lieutenant and transferred to the 110th Precinct), PO Mark Paredes and PO Michael Losada of the 83rd Precinct pulled [redacted] over for making a right turn on a red light in the vicinity of Evergreen Avenue and Troutman Street in Brooklyn. Sgt. O'Keeffe requested [redacted] to exit his car. [redacted] got out and walked to the rear. Sgt. O'Keeffe allegedly told the other two officers to search [redacted]s car. Either PO Losada or PO Paredes allegedly searched [redacted]s car through the front and rear passenger's side doors (Allegation A). While explaining the reason of the car stop to [redacted] Sgt. O'Keeffe allegedly called him a \"smartass\" (Allegation B). Sgt. O'Keeffe allegedly frisked [redacted]s chest, pockets and legs and unzipped his jacket and placed his hands into one inner pocket and two pockets in the front of the jacket (Allegations C and D). Sgt. O'Keeffe asked [redacted] where he kept his registration and insurance. [redacted] told Sgt. O'Keeffe that it was in his glove box, and Sgt. O'Keeffe told him to retrieve it. [redacted] asked why the officers had not found it if they searched the car. Sgt. O'Keeffe again called him a \"smartass\", and after [redacted] told him which side of the car he was planning to walk on, Sgt. O'Keeffe called him a \"smartass\" again (Allegation B continued). [redacted] was handcuffed and taken to the 83rd Precinct stationhouse.
