PO Gales and PO Martinez were informed that [redacted] struck a pedestrian with his vehicle.\n\nDuring a brief conversation with [redacted] on the cement median in front of 960 Atlantic Avenue, PO Martinez and PO Gales smelled an odor of alcohol emanating from [redacted] and believed him to be intoxicated. While trying to place him under arrest, PO Martinez allegedly punched [redacted] approximately 3-5 times in the face area.
