Salahudin Clark and PO Carlito DeJesus, both of the 32nd Precinct, registered a license plate hit on a Chrysler Pacifica reported missing by Panasea [redacted]. The officers made preparations to tow the vehicle, which was parked near the intersection of West 129th Street and Lenox Avenue in Manhattan, at which point [redacted] cousin, exited a nearby building, approached the officers, and told them that the car was his and that he could furnish keys for the vehicle from his residence at [redacted] approximately two blocks away near the intersection of [redacted].\n\n[redacted] fled northbound and PO DeJesus followed. While running, [redacted] looked back behind him and tripped, falling forward and sustaining a laceration to his left forehead. [redacted] was apprehended by PO DeJesus on the sidewalk outside of [redacted]. PO DeJesus grabbed [redacted] from behind as he attempted to enter into his apartment building, and the two began to shove each other. Det. Clark then approached in a marked police vehicle, and pulled up onto the sidewalk within feet of [redacted] and PO DeJesus. PO DeJesus wrestled [redacted] and was able to press him up against the right side of the vehicle and bend his body over the hood.\n\nDet. Clark exited the vehicle and approached PO DeJesus and [redacted] with his arm raised. Within seconds, Det. Clark struck [redacted] with his baton to his left shoulder, and slightly backed away from [redacted]. At this point, PO DeJesus held [redacted]'s right side and his body was relatively still. Det. Clark then struck [redacted] seven times on his calves, Det. Clark then paused and pressed up against [redacted]'s upper body, backed up again, and struck [redacted] twice on the calves. Det. Clark paused again, and then again struck [redacted] twice on the calves.
