Plaintiff had parked his mother's car outside near where his friends were shooting the video. Defendant police officers in plainclothes saw the group shooting the video; some of the defendants approached the group making the video while another officer approached the plaintiff. The defendant police officer asked whose car the plaintiff had gotten out of; the plaintiff explained that the car belonged to his mother. The defendant conducted a pat down search of the plaintiff; he did not find any illegal substances. The defendants then asked if anyone they had stopped had been on parole. Plaintiff complained that the defendants were harassing them. Then, one of the defendants demanded to see the paperwork for the car. Plaintiff provided the defendant with the car's paperwork; the defendant reviewed it and confirmed the car was registered and insured. The defendants then searched the car and found no illegal substances. Without warning or explanation, the defendants grabbed plaintiff and threw him against the car. Plaintiff's cell phone was knocked to the ground and broken. Plaintiff was transported to 101st precinct, where he was fingerprinted and photographed. The car was also taken to the precinct, searched again and then released to plaintiff's mother. Plaintiff was then taken to Queen's Central Booking, where after 15 hours of incarceration, he was released by the DA, who declined to prosecute.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.371071/gov.uscourts.nyed.371071.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/13242423/christie-v-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Marrero, Alfredo, et al. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-01-22","disposition_date":"2017-03-06","payout_amount":19148.34,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"15CV00306","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Gunn, Brian M.","summary":"On October 31, 2014, plaintiffs Alfredo Marrero, Virginia Velasquez, and S.V were inside an apartment when defendant officers opened the unlocked door and came in without permission or a warrant.
