Plaintiff had called the police because her brother drove by the house and threatened Plaintiff. Plaintiff had an Order of Protection issued against her brother on May 14, 2020. Five male Defendant Officers responded to Plaintiff’s call for help. Defendant Officers asked Plaintiff for ID. Defendant Officers circled Plaintiff and grabbed her arms, handcuffed her tightly, and threw her on the ground. Plaintiff’s elbow, knee, and arm hit the ground. Defendant Officers stepped on Plaintiff’s back. Defendant Officers picked Plaintiff off the ground and placed her on the patio porch. Plaintiff’s wig had fallen off during the struggle. Plaintiff informed Defendant Officers the handcuffs were tight and she was bleeding. Defendant Officers did not loosen the handcuffs. Defendant Officers placed Plaintiff into the vehicle and transported her to the 108th precinct, where she was strip searched, and remained for approximately 11 hours. Plaintiff was transferred to Central Booking where she remained for approximately 10 hours before appearing before the judge. While Plaintiff was in custody, Defendant officers provided the Queens DA with false information that Plaintiff committed a crime. On May 16, 2020, Plaintiff appeared before the judge and was released on her own recognizance.
