Plaintiff was peacefully protesting for Black Lives Matter when an individual had lit a firework inside or outside of a police vehicle. Plaontiff was ruanning away from the explosion when he was grabbed and tackled by Defendant Officers. Plaintiff was maced and beaten with a baton. Plaintiff was bleeding profusely and asked Defendant Officers for medical attention, and was denied. Plaintiff was transported to the 76th Precinct where hewas placed in a holding cell, and after 18 hours, he was released with a desk appearance ticket. Defendant Officer’s falsely stated to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office that Plaintiff had committed Criminal Mischief. On August 30, 2021, all criminal charges against Plaintiff were ordered to be dismissed and sealed. Plaintiff had committed no crime nor did he violate the law in any way.
