The defendants handcuffed and questioned all individuals within the establishment, including the plaintiff, and conducted a search without consent. When the defendants questioned the plaintiff, they became aggressive and called the plaintiff a lair, claiming he had a criminal record and threatening to arrest him but never read him his Miranda rights. The defendants then forced everyone other than the plaintiff to leave the property and arrested the plaintiff and transported him to the 75th precinct. \nThe plaintiff was in the 75th precinct for several hours before being moved to central booking, before the plaintiff was arraigned. The defendants provided false information to the DA office to initiate a criminal investigation against the plaintiff. The felony charges were later dismissed and the misdemeanor charges were dismissed 2 years later in May 2013. The plaintiff had to obtain counsel and as a result had lost employment and business income.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=wP/MlfHrv8JAdyadhHKdSw==","type":"complaint"}]},{"officer_name":"Terepka, Radoslaw","disposition":"Settlement","start_date":"2016-02-16","disposition_date":"2022-10-18","court":"Supreme Court - Queens","docket":"701022/2016","name":"Cotignola, Michael A. vs City of New York, et al.","payout_amount":15000},{"name":"Goins, Desmon vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-12-22","disposition_date":"2017-11-14","payout_amount":51500,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"15CV07105","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Terepka, Radoslaw","summary":"Defendant officers approached Plaintiff while he was standing in front of his house. Officers immediately grabbed one of the Plaintiffs, banged his head against a wall, and then threw him to the floor. One of the officers thereafter placed one of his feet on the head of Plaintiff, applying excessive and unnecessary pressure to his head with an intent to injure him. That Plaintiff was subsequently thrown on a bed, where he, including his private parts, were searched in full view of other officers. Meanwhile, the other Plaintiff was grabbed off the chair where he was sitting and thrown on the floor, where he remained until officers searched and handcuffed him. The Plaintiffs were taken to the precinct and Central Booking, where they were held for several hours, before they were released without any explanation as to why they had been arrested in the first place. \n\nOfficers forwarded false allegations about the arrest to the DA’s Office. Upon information and belief, Plaintiffs were released only after the DA’s Office declined to prosecute Plaintiffs based upon the lack of probable cause that existed for the arrest or prosecution of Plaintiffs. While at the precinct, one of the Plaintiffs repeatedly requested medical treatment, which he was denied. The following officers are named in the complaint: P.O. Todd Hansen, Sgt. Damon Martin, P.O.
