The defendant officers then, without a warrant, informed the plaintiff they were entering her apartment. Plaintiff was not entirely clothed and asked to at least put some clothes on before they entered. Defendant officers ignored this request, forcibly entered her apartment and used excessive force to handcuff the plaintiff while she was half naked laying on the ground, including smashing her face into the floor and yanking her arms into awkward positions causing physical injury. During this assault, four different neighbors tried to inform the defendant officers that they were hurting the plaintiff. The defendant officers' body cameras were turned on only after the assault concluded. Following the assault, the defendant officers ignored the plaintiffs requests to be taken to a hospital and instead took her to the precinct; however she was later transported by ambulance to a hospital to treat her injuries. The officers also filed false and misleading claims with the DA that the plaintiff had committed a crime.\n\nOn May 16, 2020, following 48 hours in unlawful custody due to these false claims, plaintiff was released, and on March 15, 2021, all charges were dismissed against the plaintiff.
