Three police cars pulled up in front of plaintiffs. Three defendant officers exited the vehicle and approached plaintiffs. One of the defendants stated they received a report that fifteen persons, at least one of whom was in possession of a firearm, were present at that location. Neville approached Brown and searched inside his pockets. One defendants took hold of Green, and without probable cause patted him down and unlawfully searched his pockets. Brown took a booklet out of his pocket he received at a police-community meeting, and told Neville and defendant Sergeant John Doe that Neville did not have a right to search inside his pockets. Neville responded, \"You think you're tough?\", struck Brown with his baton, threw him to the ground, stomped on and rear-handcuffed him, and continued to hit him after he was handcuffed. Neither Sergeant John Doe nor the other defendants made attempts to prevent Neville from assaulting Brown. Green protested the treatment his brother Brown, was receiving. As a result of his voicing his protest, one of the defendants grabbed Green from behind, threw him to the ground, hit with batons, kicked and rear-handcuffed and arrested him. Brown and Green were placed in a police car and driven to the 101st Precinct. At the precinct, Brown requested medical assistance. One of the defendants responded by handing him tissues, telling him to wipe the blood off himself and to \"Suck it up.\" Brown said that he was going to make a report to the Internal Affairs Bureau.
