The officers seized his two iPhones and other property, and have refused to return them. Plaintiff was remanded without bail and incarcerated for almost three years, before being found not guilty on December 7, 2016. Five named officers involved in the investigation, arrest, and prosecution of plaintiff had been involved in a previous arrest of plaintiff: Detective Kevin Goodspeed, Detective Anthony Puleo, Detective John Roberts, Sergeant Bryan Pierre, and Detective Gary Haber. Leading up to the February 4 arrest, these officers presented falsified records and pressured witnesses. Sergeant Pierre made false statements about an interview with a witness. Detective Goodspeed (the lead investigator) repeatedly pressured a grand jury witness, who later recanted. \nThe previous arrest occurred on April 9, 2012, at or near a jail in Queens. Leading up to that arrest, Detective Haber falsely represented statements made by a witness. Shortly after the arrest, Detective Roberts, Sergeant Pierre, and another officer physically assaulted plaintiff. After lengthy detention at the precinct, Detective Roberts and others made false statements to get charges filed. Plaintiff was held at Rikers for several months. Plaintiff was brought back to the precinct for a lineup, after which Detective Haber and other officers physically assaulted plaintiff and placed him in a chokehold. Charges were dismissed on November 13, 2012.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.414146/gov.uscourts.nyed.414146.57.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/7111850/demosthene-v-the-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Harris, Ian vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-11-23","disposition_date":"2017-01-04","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"Zero Disposition","docket":"15CV06467","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Haber, Gary","summary":"Plaintiff walked inside the gated entry to his home when Officers approached, searched him, found a gun, and arrested and charged him with Crim Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
