In addition, Plaintiff was subjected to an assault, battery, and use of excessive force by the defendant officers when the defendant officers forcefully handcuffed Plaintiff, causing physical injury, and treatment at Kings County Hospital. Plaintiff was then unlawfully imprisoned at the 77* Precinct Police Station and Kings Central Booking for approximately 24 hours until plaintiff was arraigned in Criminal Court, charged with crimes she did not commit, and released on her own recognizance. While in her cell at the 77th precinct, Plaintiff was refused access to sanitary napkins. Furthermore, Defendant Cespedes entered the cell, forcibly removed Plaintiff's religious head wrap, and tried to fight her. Plaintiff was denied the right to due process and a fair trial until the resisting arrest charges against plaintiff were dismissed on or about April 11, 2020.
