Officers Does then stepped on multiple parts of Matos's body with excessive force while Hook handcuffed him. Matos asked Hook if he had a warrant, but Hook answered that he did not need a warrant. Matos had not consented to the arrest , did not physically resist the arrest, and did not provoke the officers, and the officers had no warrant or a justifiable cause to arrest Matos. Matos was subsequently transferred to a hospital to receive medical care. Matos soon learned that Hook had accused Matos of assaulting officers when in fact, it was the other way around. Ultimately, the charges against Matos terminated favorably for him.
