Plaintiff is not fluent in English. Several uniformed POs entered the restaurant and exited with an arrested customer. The PO's reentered and asked Plaintiff for ID, one saying if she doesn't have ID she will be sent to jail. They raised their voices and spoke in intimidating tones. \n\nPlaintiff was afraid and attempted to call her husband, a PO grabbed her phone and threw it onto the counter. A PO forcefully grabbed Plaintiff's arms and twisted them to handcuff her behind her back. Plaintiff cried, saying she was in pain from the PO's handling because she's pregnant. During the arrest, Plaintiff fell to the floor hitting her back and buttock. A PO grabbed her by the arm to pick her up from the floor. She did not resist arrest, though she protected her abdomen in fear of her unborn child being injured. Plaintiff's person was searched twice, the PO's frisked her entire body, putting their hands in her pockets. Plaintiff was taken from the restaurant and shoved into a police van. Defendant PO's returned inside to search the restaurant. They found Plaintiff's ID in her bag. 20 minutes later, Plaintiff was taken out of the van and handcuffs removed. She returned inside and a PO gave her a ticket for drinking alcohol in the restaurant.\n\nShe went home and felt unwell, with vomiting and stomach pain. She called 911 and was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where she was treated for the physical trauma of the arrest, given medications, and saw a psychologist. Plaintiff went to court for the citation, which was dismissed for facial insufficiency.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.436355/gov.uscourts.nysd.436355.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/5588665/lin-v-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Folk, Shianna vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2013-06-03","disposition_date":"2016-01-14","payout_amount":20000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"501517/2013","court":"Supreme Court - Kings","officer_name":"Maranzano, Dominick A.","summary":"On December 8, 2011, Plaintiff was unlawfully searched and falsely arrested while lawfully presence at her friend's apartment.
