Plaintiff was accosted by several NYPD officers, including Officer Shumann Battist and Officer Samantha Heim. Without any lawful justification, the officers forcibly seized, detained, and arrested Plaintiff. The officers viciously assaulted Plaintiff even though he did not struggle or resist arrest. Plaintiff was falsely imprisoned in police custody for an extended period of time. The officers knowingly relayed false allegations against Plaintiff and forwarded them to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, which used that information to draft a criminal complaint against him. Thereafter, Plaintiff was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
