When Plaintiff identified the bag he was carrying as personal belongings, Defendant Officer Thomas Maroney ripped it from his hands, threw Plaintiff against a car, and cuffed him.  At the 52nd Precinct, Plaintiff complained that his wrists were being injured by the cuffs, but Defendants Maroney and Medina ignored him.  Plaintiff passed out twice from the pain.  The handcuffs were removed only so Defendant Maroney could strip search the Plaintiff, after which they were again applied.  Defendant Maroney also slapped Plaintiff and forced his head against a wall.  Plaintiff was charged with felony drug possession, but all charges were dismissed on October 21, 2013 having not been presented to a grand jury. Plaintiff Moore produced her valid license.  Defendant Srour opened the driver’s door, ordered Plaintiff Moore to exit, and then illegally searched her without probable cause or reasonable suspicion.  When Plaintiff Henderson objected to the illegal search, Defendant Srour called for Defendant Moroney.  Defendant Moroney physically pulled Plaintiff Henderson from the car and despite his protests that he had not consented was searched.  Defendants Moroney and Srour then illegally searched the car despite Plaintiffs’ refusal to give consent and the lack of any indicia of criminal activity, and allegedly found a small amount of narcotics in a closed purse belonging to a friend of Plaintiff Moore in the backseat.  Plaintiffs were transported to a precinct, where they were both strip searched.  Both were issued tickets for criminal possession rather than a traffic citation, with Defendant Moroney falsely alleging to have found drugs in the front seat center console.
