Defendants were acting based on a report filed by plaintiff's ex-boyfriend who complained of a verbal dispute. Plaintiff, who was pregnant at the time, presented herself to the 69th precinct, where she was promptly arrested by defendants. Defendants handcuffed plaintiff so tightly as to cause pain and numbness and then searched her person, but did not find any contraband. Plaintiff was then kept at the precinct for a lengthy period of time before she was transported for arraignment.\n\nDefendants then transmitted statements to the district attorney, without further investigation and based solely on the unsubstantiated claim of her ex-boyfriend, which caused plaintiff to be charged with aggravated harassment.
