At the time, Defendant Officer Mangual and Doe illegally crossed the intersection on Church Ave in spite of a red light, made an illegal U-turn on Church Ave, and pulled Plaintiff over without cause, basis, or justification. Said Defendants cursed at Plaintiff and insisted on seeing his identification without cause, basis, or justification. Upon taking Plaintiff's ID, said Defendants falsely and fraudulently alleged that Plaintiff had an outstanding arrest warrant dating from 1993 when in fact there was not. Said Defendant Officers knew or should have known there was no arrest warrant. Plaintiff was not even in the United States until 1996 and any minimal investigation at the scene reasonably would have and should have revealed that there was no arrest warrant. Defendant Officers Mangual and Doe then unlawfully strip searched Plaintiff in public without any cause, basis, or justification, causing embarrassment and humiliation as this occurred in full view of strangers. Defendant Officers then handcuffed Plaintiff unnecessarily and unreasonably tight and painfully restrained his arms behind his back, causing injury. Defendant Officers repeatedly assaulted Plaintiff's head, torso, and body after handcuffs were applied. Defendant Officers unlawfully struck Plaintiff with closed fists, feet, and foreign objects. Plaintiff was falsely and unlawfully imprisoned at the 67th Precinct without any cause, basis, or justification for more than approximately 24 hours where he was forced to defend himself and answer unjust and baseless criminal charges. As a result of the false arrest, Plaintiff was falsely and improperly imprisoned for approximately 32 hours. Plaintiff was released from Central Booking after seeing a judge and the false charges against him were dismissed on September 24, 2010.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.339963/gov.uscourts.nyed.339963.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/13049299/hilaire-v-city-of-new-york/"}],"image":"https://www.50-a.org/images/officer/6D8D-omar-mangual.jpg","id":"6D8D","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/6D8D"}
