PO Maria Lorenzo and Sgt. Jose Camacho abruptly approached and physically seized the Plaintiff, throwing him up against a wall. They then unlawfully searched Plaintiff, touching all areas of his body. A PO reached his hands into Plaintiff's pockets, removed all contents, and identified a legal carpenter's knife provided to Plaintiff by his job for his job. At no time were unlawful weapons or illegal contraband recovered from Plaintiff's person. \n\nPlaintiff was taken to the Transit District 1 Precinct, where he was unlawfully searched again and detained in a holding cell for several hours, after which he was taken to Central Booking. Based on misleading information provided by POs, a malicious prosecution was commenced alleging Plaintiff was in possession of a switchblade. Other parts of the complaint state Plaintiff was falsely accused of being in possession of a gravity knife. Plaintiff was released after approximately 16 hours in custody and had to appear in court three times before all charges were dismissed on January 5, 2017.
