Plaintiff was released from custody from Kings County Central Booking several hours later after the Kings County District Attorney’s Office found that the officers lacked probable cause to arrest him. On June 19, 2012, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the same police officers falsely arrested Plaintiff in the vicinity of Hull Street and Rockaway Avenue in Brooklyn for committing the same crimes he had already been falsely arrested for. The officers did not possess any additional facts when they arrested Plaintiff for the second time. Although they did not recover any drugs, weapons, or contraband of any kind from Plaintiff, the officers placed him in handcuffs, arrested him, and transported him to the 73rd Precinct.\n\nThe officers spoke to the Special Narcotics Prosecutor instead of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, neglecting to tell him that the DA had declined to prosecute Plaintiff for the same crimes. They purposefully and maliciously misled the Special Narcotics Prosecutor to prosecute in order to justify the arrest made on June 6, 2012. Based on false information provided by the officers, the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor initiated a prosecution against Plaintiff on June 19, 2012. After 24 hours in police custody, Plaintiff was arraigned and falsely charged with several crimes. Plaintiff was unlawfully detained until July 2, 2012. After several court appearances, all charges were dismissed in Plaintiff’s favor on January 31, 2013.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=/Rq0J2p3GWQhM1h5cT9VGQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Campbell, June, et al. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-04-15","disposition_date":"2016-02-23","payout_amount":37500,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"15CV01786","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Casey, Neil","summary":"Plaintiffs were falsely arrested and taken into custody without probable cause .","documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4920562-Campbell-et-al-v-The-City-of-New-York-et-al","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/13242216/campbell-v-the-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Jones, Briana vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-03-10","disposition_date":"2016-08-29","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"Zero Disposition","docket":"15CV01146","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Casey, Neil","summary":"On April 26, 2012, Briana Jones was in her home on East 56th Street in Brooklyn when Neil Casey and Robert Beierle, amongst other P.O.s broke down her door without cause and illegally arrested Jones Jones was thrown to the floor, assaulted, battered, and handcuffed.
