While he was there, Plaintiff saw two men fighting and then they separated and walked away. After the fight ended, Defendant Dorsey entered the park and began to arrest Mr. Wilkerson for fighting. Plaintiff verbally objected to the arrest, knowing that Mr. Wilkerson was not involved in the fight. After Mr. Wilkerson was handcuffed and escorted from the park, Defendant Dorsey conferred with other Defendant Arresting Officers and they decided to arrest the Plaintiff in retaliation for his verbal objection. Without explanation, the arresting officers approached the Plaintiff and they aggressively pinned him against the bleachers as they handcuffed him. As a result of being slammed into the bleachers, Plaintiff suffered a deep laceration and blood poured down his face. The Defendant Officers placed Plaintiff in the squad car and drove him to the 26th Precinct where he was searched, fingerprinted, and photographed. The officers found nothing illegal on him. Plaintiff made multiple requests for medical help, which were ignored. After being put in a cell, Plaintiff again requested medical treatment and an emergency medical technician came to clean the wound. However, Plaintiff required more serious attention and was eventually transported to Saint Luke's Hospital where he received approximately five stitches.\n\nPlaintiff was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment in the Second Degree, and two counts of Resisting Arrest. The criminal complaint signed by Defendant Dorsey contained multiple misstatements of fact. The criminal case against the Plaintiff proceeded over five months, until March 26, 2014 when the New York County District Attorney's Office dismissed all charges against him.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.432751.23.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/4354174/santos-v-the-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Roberson, Shadesia vs City of New York","start_date":"2013-08-21","disposition_date":"2014-09-26","payout_amount":10000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"157600/2013","court":"Supreme Court - New York","officer_name":"Dilberto, Anthony","summary":"On April 30, 2013, plaintiff was lawfully present at 55 Lasalle St, NY, NY, not engaged in any wrongdoing.
