Defendants approached Plaintiff's vehicles and requested his license and registration. After examining the Plaintiff's valid license and registration for several minutes, the Defendants re-approached Plaintiff and asked him to exit the vehicle. Defendants then began to search Plaintiff's vehicle and him without a warrant, probable cause, reasonable suspicion, or consent for contraband. \n\nAlthough the Defendants did not find any contraband nor had probable cause to arrest the Plaintiff, they placed the Plaintiff under arrest by handcuffing him tightly behind his back. Defendants then placed Plaintiff in an NYPD vehicle, took him to a nearby police precinct, searched him again, fingerprinted him, photographed him, and later confined him in a holding cell for several hours. Defendants later falsely repreated to the New York County's District Attorney's Office that he possed MDMA, a forged license, and a ziploc bag of marijuana, causing Plaintiff to get charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana though the Plaintiff never did any of these crimes. Defendants later took Plaintiff to Central Booking, where he was searched, moved from cell to cell, and further detained for 24 hours until after his arraignment. As a result of Defendant's actions, Plaintiff suffered loss of liberty, physical injuries and pain, mental anguish, shock, fright, apprehension, embarrassment, humiliation, and deprivation of his constitutional rights.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=ZodCaZ0BgRiOwvOgY_PLUS_MgXQ==","type":"complaint"}]}],"discipline":[{"disposition_date":"2022-03-16","case_no":"2021-23337","penalty":"Vacation days (21 days)","charges":[{"desc":"Failed an integrity test.","disposition":"Pleaded Guilty"},{"desc":"Failed to activate their body worn camera.","disposition":"Pleaded Guilty"},{"desc":"Wrongfully discourteous to an individual known to the Department.","disposition":"Pleaded Guilty"}]}],"documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24487734-8348_cpi_gnanaraj","type":"cpi"},{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22125473-daf-gnanaraj954871","type":"brady-giglio"},{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24487619-7621_cpi_disciplinary_-_954871_redacted","type":"brady-giglio"}],"payroll":{"salary":"96477","regular":"96100","overtime":"34628","other":"17116","total":"147844"},"id":"7GAV","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/7GAV"}
