Following a dispute with a taxi driver, who had thrown Mr. Patrick’s wheelchair from the vehicle, officers allegedly assaulted him, forcibly removing him from his wheelchair and throwing him to the ground without identifying themselves or providing legal justification. Mr. Patrick claims the officers falsely accused him of several crimes, including assault and possession of controlled substances, despite knowing the allegations were untrue. He further asserts that the officers acted in bad faith, using excessive force, fabricating evidence, and engaging in a conspiracy to falsely arrest and prosecute him. After being detained and mistreated, including being placed in excessively tight handcuffs, Mr. Patrick was unlawfully held at various locations. The charges against him were dismissed in November 2019.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=psg8/II_PLUS_fxx2lMxHQqFkLw==","type":"complaint"}]}],"image":"https://www.50-a.org/images/officer/8CEV-yevgeny-dym.jpg","id":"8CEV","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/8CEV"}
