He was taken to the hospital where it was determined he had an open warrant. He was placed in custody while at the hospital. One week later, Det. Darren Bruce and Det. Kevin Clarke picked plaintiff up from the hospital to take him to a correction facility. They knew he had been shot. They became irritated at the precinct that plaintiff was not moving quickly and dragged plaintiff facedown a flight of stairs with his gunshot wounds striking the stairs multiple times as he was dragged. Plaintiff was handcuffed the whole time. When plaintiff arrived at the detention center, he was bleeding internally and swelling. He was taken to a hospital where he was readmitted and spent several more weeks in treatment. He suffered a traumatic laceration to his kidney as a result of the assault. Upon leaving the hospital, he spent several more weeks at the Riker's Island infirmary. He required a liquid diet and lost a shocking amount of weight and was in pain. Plaintiff was not given a liquid diet and complained. The complaints were never rectified. He ate solid food because he was starving, but this made him extremely sick. He was in pain and vomited almost 20 times in two days. He was then readmitted to the hospital due to the injuries caused by failure to give him a liquid diet. When he went back to Riker's Island, he still required a liquid diet and was still not given one. Instead, he was given softer foods. Again, plaintiff complained and went unrectified. His pain persisted and he was once again readmitted to the hospital. He was released back to Riker's Island and still not given the proper diet, but this time his injuries were not so bad as to require a return to the ER. Plaintiff was forced to return to court on approximately 37 occasions over the course of 3 years until all charges against Plaintiff were ultimately dismissed and sealed. \n\nOn January 5 and 10, 2017 Plaintiff was compelled to seek medical treatment for injuries caused by the POs, including x-rays, pain medication, and orthopedic specialist consultation.
