Claimant had completed a job interview at White Castle on Webster Avenue when the named police officers NYPD Segeant Pinny, and Officer Moneron stopped him to illegally search him without probable cause. Claimant then walked two blocks further and saw these officers again and pulled out his phone to take down their license plate number. Then 3 male officers and one female officer got out of the car. Segeant Pinny assaulted the Plaintiff, forcefully grabbing his hands and putting handcuffs on his left wrist at which the second male officer came up behind him and grabbed his right arm attempting to put the cuffs on his right wrist, but the first male officer was now bending his left arm in a clockwise motion while tightening the handcuff to his left wrist, cuffing him in an excessively tight manner. The tightness caused blood loss to the hands and numbness, bruising and internal derangement to his left shoulder. Plaintiff had not resisted or assaulted the defendants in any way and such forced as was used against him was unnecessary, unreasonable and excessive. The defendants had no warrant for the arrest for the plaintiff no probable cause for the arrest and no legal excuse or cause to seize the person of the plaintiff.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=SU/RlTAZejQGtsNtw9hc5A==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Kinsey, Maurice vs City of Ny, et al.","start_date":"2023-08-01","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"811488/2023E","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","summary":"On May 11, 2022, Mr. Kinsey was unlawfully stopped, detained, battered and assaulted, seized and searched, and falsely arrested by Defendant officers in the vicinity of inside 2120 Ryer Avenue in the Bronx. Prior to this date, Defendants conducted a police investigation where they falsely accused Plaintiff of a criminal offense of assault on a police officer. Thereafter, the Defendants communicated to Mr. Kinsey there was a warrant for his arrest and that he would be taken into custody if he did not voluntarily surrender himself. Defendants illegally seized and searched Mr. Kinsey's person with their outstretched hands aggressively grabbing about his body and rifling through his clothing, without probable cause, reasonable suspicion, or a valid arrest warrant. Defendant officers violently contorted his arms and wrists behind his back and applied excessively tightened metal handcuffs, causing pain and discomfort. Defendant Solomon signed and forwarded the criminal court complaint to the District Attorney's Office, in which they knowingly affirmed the truth of fabricated allegations against Mr. Kinsey by Defendant Pinney. Mr. Kinsey was detained over the course of approximately three days, until his release from physical custody on May 14, 2022. Ultimately, the criminal prosecution was terminated in Mr. Kinsey's favor when all adverse charges were unconditionally dismissed on October 4, 2022.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=IlDrixYcF5QpUcYBeSXUyw==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Kelly, James vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2020-12-09","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Pinney, Adlai"},{"name":"Kelly, James vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2020-12-09","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"034903/2020E","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Pinney, Adlai","summary":"On May 15, 2019, Plaintiff was waiting inside a building for his regularly scheduled parole meeting.
