The Defendants unlawfully stopped, questioned and searched the plaintiffs,  The incident occurred in the vicinity of of the intersection of Lenox Avenue and 110th Street, New York County, New York. At the time, the Plaintiffs were lawfully riding electric bikes when the defendants, with no legal basis, approached and searched the Plaintiffs. The Defendant police officers then illegally arrested Mr. Smith, and in doing so violently contorted his arms behind his backs and handcuffed him in an excessively tight fashion, causing him substantial pain and discomfort.\n\nShortly thereafter, the Defendants transported Mr. Smith to the 28th NYPD Precinct, where he was fingerprinted, photographed, and was made subject to a humiliating and dehumanizing strip search before being placed in a holding cell.
