One of Plaintiff’s friends was concerned that Plaintiff was stressed, so she called the school to do a check on the Plaintiff. Security from Manhattan College, including Defendant Juan Cerezo, Director of Public Safety, located Plaintiff, who was taking an exam. Plaintiff informed Security that she was fine and continued with her exam. Afterwards, Plaintiff went to sit in her car in the parking lot. Cerezo called 911 and falsely reported that Plaintiff was suicidal and a danger to herself and others. Defendant P.O.s Lumsden, Diaz, and Boyle, along with Cerezo, located Plaintiff at her car and confronted her. Plaintiff rolled her window down, told the officers she was fine, and offered to let them speak to her mother who was on the phone, to confirm her safety. Officer Lumsden then forced his arm through the window, grabbed Plaintiff by her hair, tearing some of it out, forced the car door open, and dragged Plaintiff out of her car. The officers used unreasonable force in arresting her, causing her bruises and applying her handcuffs tightly.
