The officers in question were Gerard Delprete, John Ryan, Michelle Ortiz, Megan Carroll, Arthur Truscelli, Nicholas Velez, John Brooks, and David Luppino. Officer Delprete approached Plaintiff Esposito and handcuffed her left wrist. Officer Ryan then unfastened Plaintiff's pants and reached inside, touching her genitals and thigh areas. Defendant Ryan then handcuffed her right wrist. Defendant Ryan squeezed the handcuff to the point of extreme tightness and said something along the lines of \"I'm going to break both your fucking hands and wrists.\" The officers did not loosen plaintiff's handcuffs, leaving them in an extremely tight state for an extended period of time. Because the officers didn't loosen the handcuffs, plaintiff suffered injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment. \n\nWhile Plaintiff was handcuffed, Defendant Ortiz approached and pulled down Plaintiff's pants, searched her, and pulled her pants back up. Defendant Carrol assisted Defendant Ortiz with this search. Defendants Brooks and Luppino were present for all of this but failed to intervene. Plaintiff was imprisoned based on false allegations in materials prepared by officer Delprete, who conspired with the other named officers. All drug charges against Plaintiff were eventually dismissed.","documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4920406-Eposito-v-City-of-New-York-et-al"},{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.365223/gov.uscourts.nyed.365223.16.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/4556651/eposito-v-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Edwards-El, Shandrica as Adm of The Estate of Mizell, Irving (deceased) vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2014-08-12","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"14CV04507","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Carroll, Megan A.","summary":"On March 7, 2013, at about 6:30pm, plaintiff's intestate Mizell was lawfully in the vicinity of 456 Richmond Terrace, Richmond County, NY, a New York City Housing Authority building. Mizell was, without just cause, wrongfully assaulted by the defendant officers. Mizell's assault took place while he was being falsely arrested for a violation of an order of protection, which has been disposed of. Despite Mizell not having committed any crimes, nor any probable cause, individual defendants stopped and arrested him. Following Mizell's arrest, defendants transported him into the building stairwell where the officers viciously beat, and assaulted him while dragging him down seven flights of stairs. In areas with no security cameras, defendants battered, beat, and abused Mizell, without risk of their misdeeds being recorded. Mizell was taken to the 120th precinct where he was denied medical treatment despite repeated requests and pleas. Mizell was later transported by ambulance to Richmond University Medical Center. At about 8:57pm, Mizell was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.359127/gov.uscourts.nyed.359127.25.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/8387670/edwards-el-v-city-of-new-york/"}],"id":"99B9","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/99B9"}
