The Officers exited from an unmarked vehicle and approached the Plaintiff before grabbing his arms and placing him under arrest for driving under the influence. They had no basis for this arrest and did not allow the Plaintiff to submit to any sobriety testing. The charges were false thus initiating malicious prosecution. After applying unreasonably tight cuffs they transported the Plaintiff to the police station and seized his BMW to the 73rd Precinct. The Officers caused $6,000 worth of damage by leaving the sunroof open during a severe thunderstorm causing damage to the internal hardware. The Plaintiff was then also transported to the same precinct and Central Booking and placed in a holding cell. He was arraigned on July 29 2022 for crimes he did not commit. The false charges were eventually dismissed on January 27 2023.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=m9fmudHB8avHuVicOtQ5Kg==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Bumpers, Justin vs City of Ny, et al.","start_date":"2023-01-19","disposition_date":"2026-05-08","payout_amount":75000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"501446/2023","court":"Supreme Court - Kings","summary":"On July 2023, plaintiff Justin Bumpers was present in the vicinity of Chester Street and Riverdale Avenue, where he was unlawfully arrested by police officers, among which, Ryan Grandison and James Fowler.
