Without cause, Defendant Officer Schumacher tackled Plaintiff into a hot metal grill using full weight of Defendant's body and landing on top of the Plaintiff, causing severe burns to his body, and continued to batter him on the concrete sidewalk by landing his body weight on Plaintiff and placing his knee on Plaintiff's chest and used both of Defendant's hands to shove Plaintiff's face and head into the concrete sidewalk.. The officers searched Davis without authority and left him injured without arresting him. Defendant Officer Schumacher was joined by Defendant NYPD Detective Teanesha Jackson who was also assigned to NYPD CRT. Defendant Jackson placed her body weight on Plaintiff's back and chest and assisted Defendant Schumacher in twisting the Plaintiff's arms behind his back, causing more pain to Plaintiff's injuries. Another CRT member, believed to be Defendant NYPD Detective Alex Mills further assisted the other Defendants by placing additional weight on these Defendants. The officers approached the vehicle, questioned the driver, and then, without probable cause, demanded Mr. Osman's identification. After Mr. Osman complied and provided his information but was unable to produce physical ID, the officers arrested him, claiming failure to carry identification was grounds for arrest. He was then taken to the 67th Precinct, where he was held, interrogated, and subjected to coercive tactics, including false claims of a search warrant for his home.\n\nMr. Osman was detained until approximately 12:30 AM on March 1, 2023, at which point he was released with a ticket for allegedly not wearing a seatbelt. The complaint alleges that the actions of the officers were unjustified, caused him psychological distress, and resulted in physical injuries, particularly to his wrists. The charges against Mr. Osman were later dismissed. The lawsuit claims violations of Mr. Osman’s constitutional rights, including unlawful search and seizure, excessive force, and false arrest.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=4oPqfVxNeVlGVMdOlb6vZw==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Woodstock, Shahid, et al. vs City of Ny, et al.","start_date":"2024-06-13","disposition_date":"2025-04-17","payout_amount":185000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"24CV03418","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/68512707/woodstock-v-the-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Rachlin, Dana vs City of New Yokr, et al.","start_date":"2024-04-12","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"24CV02626","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","documents":[{"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.513297/gov.uscourts.nyed.513297.31.0_1.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/68417181/rachlin-v-the-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Morales, Manuel J. vs The City of Ny, et al.","start_date":"2024-03-19","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"24CV01866","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","summary":"On April 22, 2023, the Plaintiff was assaulted, falsely arrested, and detained for eight hours.
