Officer Alvarez directed officer Chow to stop, search, detain, and arrest plaintiff because Alvarez claimed he witnessed plaintiff hand a 3rd-party an unknown item in connection to a drug deal. Officer Chow falsely claimed he recovered multiple empty zip-loc bags from the plaintiff. Officers Alvarez, Chow, and Fernando Bonilla battered and assaulted plaintiff by administering handcuffs (amongst other events). Officers Chow, Alvarez, and Bonilla fabricated a false narrative regarding the events leading to the arrest, fully aware this false arrest would violate plaintiff's parole conditions. Officer Thomas Fabrizi approved the arrest despite the lack of probable cause to believe a crime was committed. Plaintiff was eventually taken to the 24th precinct where he was processed by Alvarez, Chow, Bonilla, and Fabrizi. Plaintiff was the victim of an unlawful and incredibly invasive search and cavity inspection by Alvarez and Bonilla. Alvarez, Chow, and Bonilla intentionally provided false info to the NYC DA to initiate a criminal proceeding against plaintiff. Based on the false accusations, plaintiff was imprisoned for violating his parole for 7 months until he was acquitted of all charges.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.519583/gov.uscourts.nysd.519583.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/15943933/taylor-v-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Gomez, Miguel, et al. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2018-10-24","disposition_date":"2022-11-23","payout_amount":90000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"032035/2018E","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Chow, Anthony","summary":"On November 6, 2017, at approximately 10:10 a.m. near 78 West 180th Street, Bronx, New York.
