Defendant Detective Walter Lynch, responding to the scene but not conducting a proper investigation and illegally searching Plaintiff's car, acted to protect the attacking officer from arrest by having the Plaintiff's car moved without being properly inventoried, and turning a blind eye to the assault. The attacking officer was not arrested until five months later, and at that time they also charged Plaintiff with assault. She was maliciously prosecuted from March 20, 2013 until January 16, 2014.
