The defendant officers entered Ms. Powell's apartment and handcuffed her, causing injuries to her wrists and hands. The defendant officers then lifted Ms. Powell off the floor and placed her in a police vehicle, transporting her to the 77th Precinct.\n\nMs. Howell spent thirty (30) hours in custody before being transferred to Kings County Central Booking, where she was searched again and processed. While she was in custody, the defendant police officers provided false information to the Kings County District Attorneys Office, stating that Ms. Howell had obstructed a governmental administration. The charges against Ms. Howell were dropped on June 15, 2022.
