Before being served with the order, Plaintiff went to Kamamis's home and requested that he open the door. On December 19, 2011, the Plaintiff was served with a summons, petition, and temporary order of protection by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department. On January 24, 2012, Defendant Officer Ferguson contacted Plaintiff, who denied violating the order of protection. On February 22, 2012, while outside the Family Court in Queens County, Plaintiff was arrested by Defendant Officer Ferguson and Sergeant Alicia Manzer without probable cause. The officers filed a criminal charge of criminal contempt against Plaintiff, ignoring the fact that Plaintiff had not been served before the alleged violation and failing to check the facts. Plaintiff was imprisoned until February 23, 2012, when she appeared in criminal court and was released on her own recognizance.
