Although the plaintiff noted that she was the owner and registrant of the vehicle after purchasing the vehicle earlier in the year and requested if she could go into the vehicle to show the defendants her car registration papers, the defendants refused and instead placed the plaintiff into their police vehicle. The plaintiff then asked the defendants if she could go to her car to get her purse, which contained her passport, ID, house keys, birth certificate, social security card, card registration, and $2,500 in cash as a rent deposit from the car. But, the defendants refused and transferred her to the 28th precinct.\n\nThe defendants later transferred her to Central Booking, where she was incarcerated for approximately 48 hours in depraved, filthy, unsafe, and inhumane conditions. Ultimately, the district attorney declined to prosecute the plaintiff and released her from Central Booking. Plaintiff returned to the 28th precinct to get her car but was told it was missing. The plaintiff never received her vehicle back, with an unidentified officer apologizing to the plaintiff, offering her $160 to compensate for the lost car for a cab to return her home. The plaintiff never received her car or purse back and had to purchase a vehicle, replace all her documents, and needed to replace all the contents of her purse.
