Plaintiff’s mother became depressed after her home burned down, her hair salon went out of business, her husband passed away and her son was murdered in a short period of time. Plaintiff and her mother got into several arguments about leaving food around their home to rot, and Plaintiff’s mother began making false police reports against Plaintiff and other members of the family. \n\nOn August 23, 2021, Plaintiff’s mother gave Plaintiff’s children candy, even though she was asked not to. At around 12PM, Plaintiff called the police and when they arrived, she asked them to speak with her mother, but they declined to and left. At around 3:15, Plaintiff and her mother began arguing about candy once again and Plaintiff’s mother called the police and made a false report that Plaintiff threatened her life and pointed a knife at her. At 3:30PM, Plaintiff was inside of her home in Brooklyn when the Defendant Officers falsely arrested Plaintiff, even though Plaintiff had surveillance cameras and offered to show proof that the mother’s allegations were false, and Plaintiff was not holding a knife but a hairbrush.\n\nPlaintiff was taken to the 62nd precinct where she was searched, fingerprinted, and detained in a holding cell. Incomplete evidence was provided to the District Attorney’s Office by the Defendant Officers and she was charged with several crimes. 24 hours after she was initially detained, she was taken to central bookings. charges were terminated after three months in Plaintiff’s favor on November 22, 2021.
