Officers Yates, Ferrari, and Sacco coerced the witness into making a false identification and testimony against Rodriguez. This witness received favorable treatment in criminal cases against her and financial support in exchange for her testimony from Michael Vecchione and Barry Schreiber, but ADA Kyle Reeves did not relay this to defense in Rodriguez's trial and made statements at trial that such was not the case.  Timothy Gough made similar statements at another trial at which the witness testified, though the knew the statements were false, suggesting a pattern of misbehavior among ADAs without accountability. DA Charles Hynes implemented policies that made it easier for ADAs to make such false statements at trial and otherwise violate defendants' constitutional rights without being found out. \n\nEvidence of the checks written by the police office to the witness was later revealed. As a result of this Brady violation, Rodriguez's conviction was vacated in 2019, and the action was dismissed in 2021.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.462479/gov.uscourts.nyed.462479.27.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/59809750/rodriguez-v-city-of-new-york/"}],"id":"AK6A","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/AK6A"}
