Defendants were acting based on a report filed by plaintiff's ex-boyfriend who complained of a verbal dispute. Plaintiff, who was pregnant at the time, presented herself to the 69th precinct, where she was promptly arrested by defendants. Defendants handcuffed plaintiff so tightly as to cause pain and numbness and then searched her person, but did not find any contraband. Plaintiff was then kept at the precinct for a lengthy period of time before she was transported for arraignment.\n\nDefendants then transmitted statements to the district attorney, without further investigation and based solely on the unsubstantiated claim of her ex-boyfriend, which caused plaintiff to be charged with aggravated harassment. Plaintiff had to make several court appearances before the charges were eventually dismissed on June 3, 2022.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.522779/gov.uscourts.nyed.522779.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69309639/6/villafana-v-the-city-of-new-york/"}],"discipline":[{"disposition_date":"2011-01-11","case_no":"2010-3409","penalty":"Vacation days (18 days)","charges":[{"desc":"While on-duty, failed to ensure that a subordinate on his team, issued a criminal court summons to person known to Department","disposition":"Guilty"},{"desc":"While on-duty, failed to ensure that a subordinate on his team,  conducted a warrant check on a person known to Department.","disposition":"Guilty"},{"desc":"While on-duty, failed to ensure that a subordinate on his team,  performe a field test for marijuana for a criminal court summons","disposition":"Guilty"}]}],"documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/21027374-parham-0fb2bc3a38b46892f7247fed066116a6262a6110","type":"brady-giglio"}],"news":[{"url":"https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/ny-nypd-detectives-66th-precinct-civil-rights-transfers-brooklyn-20190523-zy4xjn4uubbdfi2xfxpkpf3a2i-story.html","title":"NYPD detectives accused of racist bullying in Brooklyn squad are transferred after Daily News reports on federal complaints","source":"New York Daily News","date":"2019-05-22"}],"id":"AUUM","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/AUUM"}
