Once Defendant NYPD Officer Jennings arrived at the scene, the security employee informed Defendant that a friend of Plaintiff's had stolen items from the store but had evaded capture, and that Plaintiff should be arrested instead. \n\nUpon agreement between Defendant Jennings and the security employee that a false complaint be brought against Plaintiff, Plaintiff was arrested. Plaintiff was subsequently prosecuted for two years.
