While escorting him to their police vehicle, one officer punched the plaintiff between his neck and shoulder and kneed him in the rib cage. At the 81st precinct, the plaintiff experienced breathing difficulties due to his injuries and was taken to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with contused ribs and a right shoulder tear. He remained in the hospital overnight, handcuffed to the bed, and was prohibited by the officers from informing medical personnel about the cause of his injuries.\n\nThe next morning, defendant officer John Doe #2 returned the plaintiff to the 81st precinct and placed him in a dark room. There, he was interrogated by defendant officers Lim Taejin and Lt. Wilson, to which he did not respond.
