When Plaintiffs returned to the grocery store's private parking lot where their car was parked, they were informed their car would be towed without being shown any authority for such action. Plaintiffs called the police and approximately four uniformed and plain clothed officers arrived. Police officers include Karanja Jefferson (Shield # 12644) and other unidentified members of the New York Police Department. One officer approached Amy Krakow's side of the car and told her to step out of the car while calling her \"elderly\". One officer banged on Gary Krakow's side of the car and said \"get the fuck out of the car\". Both plaintiffs stepped out of the car. When Amy Krakow asked if she could grab her belongings, the officer grabbed her right arm forcefully which made Amy let out a small scream in disbelief and because the officer was hurting her. The officer then threw Amy to another officer who threw her against the police car. The officer stuck his knee in the back of Amy's thigh and handcuffed her roughly, bruising her wrists. Amy also sustained bruises to her right bicep, right upper arm, thigh and knee. As for Gary Krakow, the officer threw Gary against the police car, twisted his arm (causing his right shoulder to pop), and handcuffed him in such an awkward position that he could barely stand. Two to three times a week, Gary's arm goes completely numb in his sleep and he experiences periodic pain. \nPlaintiffs were charged with obstruction of governmental administration. They spent approximately 24 hours in jail and received an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal on December 8, 2012. Their cases were dismissed and sealed on June 7, 2013.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=F8jBxJdduBl9SHpqgwxpnw==","type":"complaint"}]}],"payroll":{"salary":"109352","regular":"99043","overtime":"30949","other":"19892","total":"149885"},"id":"BB8X","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/BB8X"}
