The defendants falsely accused her of assaulting an officer, leading to her arraignment in Kings County Criminal Court. During Defendants' attempts to clear individuals from the block, Plaintiffs told Defendants that they lived in the immediate area and wanted to enter their apartment building. Defendants refused to allow Plaintiffs\nto enter their home and while Plaintiff Allen was discussing the matter with one of the NYPD Officers, a second officer grabbed Plaintiff and started physically assaulting her by punching, showing, kicking her about her body in an effort to cause her harm. Plaintiff Jeffries began to protest the conduct of Defendants Police Officers when they saw the manner in which her mother, Plaintiffs Allen, was being treated. Plaintiffs Allen was arrested for Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Disorderly Conduct. Plaintiff Jeffries was also arrested and was given a Desk Appearance Ticket charging her with Disorderly Conduct. Plaintiff Allen was prosecuted in Kings County Criminal Court and the case was resolved with an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal.
