Unable to make bail, Plaintiff was sent to Rikers Island where she was seen by a doctor and told nothing was wrong. Plaintiff was then taken to a dorm. The next morning, Plaintiff miscarried while in the shower. Though she informed the officers, no one called for an emergency. Plaintiff was allowed to seek medical attention only later, as she was still bleeding and experiencing substantial pain.
