Plaintiffs complied fully and the police walked away. However, they subsequently turned around and ran towards plaintiff 1. Plaitiffs locked themselves inside the restaurant. After approximately 15 minutes the doors were unlocked and the police entered the restaurant and arrested all 4 plaintiffs without any probable cause, tightly handcuffing them. Defendants then transported the plaintiffs to a nearby police precinct where the defendants filled out false and misleading police reports which the forwarded to the DA office. Police accused plaintiff 1 of possessing  an open container of alcohol and all plaintiffs of obstructing governmental administration and other related charges.  of  As a result of their unlawful arrest they spent 24 hours in custody and were required to make numerous court appearnaces.
