An officer conducted an illegal search of Plaintiff's vehicle, and retrieved a pocket utility knife from the bottom of Plaintiff’s center console. The officers arrested Plaintiff, without the requisite probable cause, and without telling him why he was arrested. Plaintiff was subject to verbal and physical abuse and intimidation from POs. After Plaintiff had been brought to the precinct, where he was held in custody for approximately three hours, Plaintiff was eventually issued a desk appearance ticket and released. Plaintiff was charged with alleged possession of an illegal “gravity knife”. Plaintiff was suspended from his jobs while the case was pending.
