Plaintiff and other protestors observed several NYPD officers accosting and assaulting a black male protestor, and some of them asked the officers to not hurt the protestor.  Plaintiff said nothing to the officers and did not interfere in any way.  Plaintiff again observed a NYPD officer assaulting another protestor.  Plaintiff and other protestors asked the officer to stop in an effort to de-escalate the situation.  Lt. Daniel Gallagher, in retaliation against plaintiff's exercise of his First Amendment rights, told the officers to \"get him\" (referring to plaintiff). \n P.O. Jarvis Onabanjo, Sgt. Wilson Lema, P.O. Daniel Meblin, P.O. Vinord Andrew, P.O. Luigi Tirro, P.O. Nico Hewitt, P.O. John Ortega, P.O. Bryan Wilson, and five male unidentified officers seized plaintiff without legal cause.  They attacked plaintiff, punching him in his face, head, and other areas of his body.  Plaintiff was also kicked and possibly struck with a baton.  At no time did plaintiff resist or fight back.  The officers then trampled on plaintiff, stood on top of him and pressed an arm onto his chest, obstructing his breathing.  Plaintiff started to lose consciousness from the lack of oxygen.  Plaintiff was handcuffed with plastic ties behind his back and arrested.  He asked an officer to loosen the hand restraints because his wrists were in severe pain, but the officer did not loosen them.  After he was arrested, plaintiff was put on a crowded bus with other protestors who had been arrested.  Plaintiff suffered a seizure and lost consciousness on the bus.  Another protestor called an ambulance, and plaintiff was taken to a hospital.  \n\nAfterward, plaintiff was taken to One Police Plaza and confined in a cell with other detainees.  One of the individuals in the cell was very ill -- the detainees requested masks to protect against Covid-19, but the police officers did not provide any.  Plaintiff was falsely charged with resisting arrest.  When plaintiff was released from custody on June 1, 2020, the officers could not locate plaintiff's backpack, which contained his keys and phone.  When plaintiff appeared for his court appearance on September 10, 2020, he learned that the DA's office declined to prosecute the case.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.565061/gov.uscourts.nysd.565061.51.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/60184130/lester-v-city-of-new-york/"}],"documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24441170-bronx-notified-officers-list-edited_redacted-redacted_redacted","type":"credibility-finding"}],"image":"https://www.50-a.org/images/officer/CQ3B-wilson-lema.jpg","payroll":{"salary":"141943","regular":"136877","overtime":"51406","other":"26790","total":"215073"},"id":"CQ3B","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/CQ3B"}
