When the pregnant Plaintiff left and returned to her apartment, it was ransacked with severe property damage. Annoyed with a recent disciplinary action brought against her, Plaintiff told a coworker friend that \"if [she] had a trench coat and a shotgun, it would be Columbine all over again.\" When her friend chastised her for making such a comment, Plaintiff apologized and indicated that she was simply frustrated. Plaintiff went back to her classroom, and work proceeded as usual through the following day, during which she made coffee for and spoke normally with her fellow teachers in the teachers' lounge.\n\nOne day later, on April 1, 2011, Plaintiff was called for an unscheduled meeting with her department supervisor. As she sat in her supervisor's office, four NYPD POs violently opened the door and rushed into the office. One of the officers, PO Evert, told her that she was under arrest, tightly handcuffing her and refusing to loosen them despite her requests. At the precinct, the POs explained that she was arrested for making a terroristic threat. After processing, Plaintiff was handcuffed to a pole for nine hours with few breaks. The POs did not allow her to make a phone call, and she was not given any food or water. The POs mocked Plaintiff for being \"a terrorist,\" and refused to give her any water despite knowing that she suffered from a medical condition requiring adequate water consumption. Eventually Plaintiff was allowed to request hospitalization for her condition, and she was transferred there in handcuffs and leg shackles. When she returned to the precinct and was subsequently transported to Central Booking, the POs mocked Plaintiff by showing her newspapers with her photograph (taken when she was transported to the hospital) on the cover. On April 2, 2011, she was taken to Riker's Island, where she was put on suicide watch, cavity searched, and put in a cell without food, water, or medication. She was transferred to Elmhurst Psychiatric Hospital for civil discharge.
