The following day, on or about March 3, 2010, the police department, fire department, and officers charged the plaintiff and caused him to be prosecuted for various crimes.\n\nBefore arresting and charging the plaintiff, the defendants improperly coerced false confessions from the plaintiff, fully aware that these confessions were false. Additionally, the defendants knew that the plaintiff was in police custody on unrelated charges at the time of one of the incidents for which he was charged, making it impossible for him to have participated in that incident. However, the defendants withheld this exculpatory information from prosecutors, the plaintiff, and the plaintiff's counsel, or unduly delayed its disclosure.\n\nThe defendants also knowingly presented false evidence to prosecutors, including signed, written confessions that were coerced from the plaintiff and known by the defendants to be fabricated.
