Mr. Acosta was detained without being charged and, upon release, issued a summons which was then dismissed. \n\nPlaintiff Wanebo was \"singled out\" by NYPD Police Captain or Sergeant John Doe 1, and Officer Prince O’Connor then grabbed her. John Doe 1 then attempted to place Ms. Wanebo in a chokehold, causing injury to her shoulder, and then Officer O'Connor handcuffed her. She was then transported, detained unlawfully, and told that usage of her phone call would prolong her detention.
