An officer asked Williams who he was, Williams responded, and the officer showed Williams a photo of an individual for whom the P.O.s had an arrest warrant. Williams knew the person as the former owner of the house and informed officers of this, as well as of the fact that the warrant squad had visited two months prior about the same issue and had been made aware the individual no longer resided there. Despite this, Viar handcuffed and arrested Williams. Williams was held on his porch while Viar and other defendants: Detective Capone, Sergeant Johnson, and Detective Connolly, searched his home.
