She asked him to hold her purse while she used the bathroom in the lobby, when she returned he was gone. Plaintiff explained her situation and repeatedly asked the Marriot receptionist whether she could use the phone to contact him or a taxi. The clerk refused and said he would \"call for assistance\" if she continued to ask and she said that would be fine.\n\n Shortly after, two people in EMS uniforms entered the lobby with one similarly dressed NYPD officer. Plaintiff (who is Black) was not intoxicated in any way. Without identifying themselves or speaking, the two ambulance attendees (who were white) and possibly Officer Vasquez handcuffed plaintiff and dragged her by the arms through the lobby. They also slammed her onto the floor of the ambulance before seating her. Officer and attendants refused to loosen the handcuffs  and declined to tell plaintiff what was happening. Plaintiff remained handcuffed in the hospital lobby then released after triage. She suffered ongoing wrist numbness along with bruising.
